Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz was so hooked on drugs just two years ago, he didn’t expect to live past the age of 27. Wentz claims he, his band mates and music bosses fully expected the bassist to die at 27, like his rock heroes Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain.
The 29-year-old says, “I spent most of the year I was 27 toxic, just completely over-medicated. I was stoked to make it past 27. Everyone was really worried. My management company were panicked, because I was out of the office, and ‘pharmaceutically engaged’.”
Bandmate Patrick Stump confirms his claims: “There was a countdown clock and everything. I remember, our manager called me up on Pete’s 28th birthday and screamed, ‘We made it!’”
Hope is in the air, don’t you feel it? Surprise, Manchester Orchestra have released a full acoustic version of COPE called HOPE with different arrangements and beautiful sounds all around. Vinyl will be coming out in November, but digital is out today. The band has also announced a very intimate tour in support of the release. Check out the dates and listen to the full album below!
